Dr. Pinto Provides You With Safe & Affordable Dental Crowns
Dental crowns, or simply crowns, are tooth-shaped coverings placed over the portion of a tooth that lies above the gum line in order to restore its function, strength and appearance. Crowns beautifully restore badly chipped teeth, replace a failing restoration and alleviate dental crown pain.
There are several types of crowns available and Dr. Pinto will work closely with you to determine which crown material is best suited to your individual situation and aesthetic goals. Crowns or onlays (partial crowns) are needed when there is insufficient tooth strength remaining to hold a filling. Unlike fillings, which apply the restorative material directly into your mouth, tooth crowns are fabricated away from your mouth. Your crown is created in a lab from your unique tooth impression, which allows a dental laboratory technician to examine all aspects of your bite and jaw movements. Your crown is then sculpted just for you so that your bite and jaw movements function normally once the crown is placed.
The procedure for putting on a dental crown is generally a two or three-visit process. Typically during the first visit, Dr. Pinto prepares the tooth for your permanent dental crown and provides you with a temporary dental crown. On your second visit, Dr. Pinto removes the temporary crown and puts in your permanent crown.
How healthy and vibrant you feel is often reflected through your smile. A tooth that is broken or discolored can diminish your healthy reflection and can also make it difficult to eat the foods you enjoy without worry or discomfort. Your new dental crown will fully encase the portion of your tooth that lies above the gum line. This means you will have a tooth that has greater strength and function. People will only see a tooth that has a beautiful appearance. You can fill out an appointment box form below:
