Meet Dr. Chelsea Pinto

Dr. Chelsea Pinto is an educator and dentist in Los Angeles County that has solely dedicated her practice to focus on Infant/Toddler Tongue and Lip Ties. Dr. Pinto earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the USC Ostrow School of Dentistry and completed a post-graduate General Residency Program. She has successfully treated thousands of babies with oral restrictions and proudly provides families with the knowledge to support their child’s oral motor skills, including appropriate therapeutic and feeding support referrals for an individualized and comprehensive approach.

As an advocate for honoring anatomical and physiological normalcies, she teaches proper diagnosis and treatment protocols to 1) avoid unnecessary procedures and overtreatment and 2) to address the importance of establishing optimal oral motor function and tongue posture early on to support feeding, breathing, sleeping, and speaking habits as babies grow. Collaborative care that holds a focus on empowering parents is her passion!

Dr. Pinto uses a state-of-the art LightScalpel CO2 laser for a quick, precise and gentle frenectomy procedure. The CO2 laser promotes rapid healing and minimizes the risk of bleeding, discomfort, or infection. Topical numbing gel is applied, and the procedure takes Dr. Pinto less than 15 seconds.

Dr. Pinto is the only frenectomy provider in California to implement Photobiomodulation (PBM) – Light Therapy as part of her treatment protocols. The laser light interacts with tissues at the cellular level, leading to a cascade of beneficial effects – increasing cellular function and health. Dr. Pinto utilizes Light Therapy to enhance tissue healing properties, reduce inflammation and increase circulation inside and outside of the mouth to optimize movement patterns, flexibility and comfort for both mother and baby.

She is a member of the American Laser Study Club, American Dental Association, California Dental Association, International Affiliation of Tongue Tie Professionals and International Consortium of Oral Ankylofrenula Professionals. As an internationally recognized speaker on tongue ties, Dr. Pinto provides comprehensive educational resources and mentorship opportunities for practitioners worldwide.

Dr. Pinto and her husband have two little boys and a goldendoodle named Goose. Some of their favorite family activities include going to the beach, spending time outdoors and in the pool, and cooking together.
